La Barbera, La luna e i falò

DESCRIPTION

Barbera d’Asti Superiore DOCG “La Luna e i Falò” participates in the so-called “Superbarbera” project, few hectars selected and particularly low yields. Grapes from vineyards with slightly different soils and microclimates are blended to obtain the perfect balance between structure and aroma.

Grape variety: Barbera

Over 60 hectares of vineyards are carefully selected by expert technicians, and managed to obtain low yields and participate in the “Superbarbera” project.
The blending of grapes from vineyards with slightly different soil and microclimates enables to obtain a wine with the best balance between structure and aroma.
Vinification is traditional, with 10 days maceration at a temperature of 28-30° C, followed by malolactic fermentation.
The wine spends about 12 months aging in barriques, during which this well-structured Barbera further enhances its extractive qualities and evolves into a complex and elegant wine.

Tasting notes

Colour: deep ruby red
Aroma: harmonious and deep with scents of violet, liquorice, and vanilla
Taste: dry, soft, and full, with a subtly-veined background of vanilla and wild berries which carry through to its lingering finish
