Sharis’ varietal combination integrates the experiences and expectations of both local and international consumers, in a sense acting as a bridge between Friuli-Venezia Giulia and the rest of the world. From a technical point of view, the combination of such varieties gives the wine balance and complexity. For example, Ribolla Gialla does not have a strong aromatic character on its own, but is instrumental in defining the wine texture with its freshness and liveliness.
Grape variety: Chardonnay – Ribolla Gialla
Denomination: IGT – Indicazione Geografica Tipica Bianco “delle Venezie”
The grapes are carefully destemmed and left to macerate for a short period. They are then soft pressed, and the resulting must is clarified through settling. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the wine is left on the lees for six months. The bottled wine is usually aged in a temperature-controlled environment for at least two months.
Tasting notes: Colour: canary yellow with golden reflections
Aroma: intense and captivating. Elegant notes of white and yellow flowers, such as jasmine, lily of the valley, golden lily, and mimosa. Fresh, fruity hints of lime, cherry plum, and Golden apple. Final notes of lemon custard.
Taste: lively, balanced, and enveloping. Pleasant presence of ripe white fruit, medlar, white cherry, gooseberry, and kiwi. Final balsamic hints and good persistence with citrusy aftertaste. Excellent as an aperitif, here at La Barrique Wine Bar of course.
